Scenario: The school district has alloted a generous amount of funds to be allocated towards opening a world cafe at the new high school for teacher and student use, as a celebration of diversity. However, in order for the project to become a reality, a team of students need to come up with a working plan to create a running and functional cafe. For your final product, create an effective system for managing and budgeting the cafe. How will you incorporate a variety of cultures? What foods will be showcased? Who will sponsor and direct each cultural exhibit? Don't forget that you need to find an organization that will benefit from the income generated by the sales.

Creation:

  1. Which cultures would you showcase at your world café?
  2. What would you serve from each culture?
  3. What would you name your café and why?

Management and Budgeting:
  1. Where will it be located?
  2. What kind of equipment/supplies will need to be purchased?
  3. Who will manage day-to-day operations / who will the café employ?
  4. What kind of positions will need to be filled?
  5. To which organization will you donate the money raised (ie. World Food Bank, etc.)?
